With companies like Wix, GoDaddy and Site123 offering platforms that allow you to design and build your own website it’s completely understandable that some businesses choose this cost-effective route to building their own website.

While I’m completely sympathetic to the motivations for going down this route the fact is that it is no longer acceptable to have a homemade website. The fact is your customers will instantly be able to tell that it is homemade and while homemade cooking, gifts and many other things are a much-appreciated touch, this is not true of websites.
Regardless of your product, service, industry or customers, what your customers want is reassurance that when they buy from you they get what they paid for and what they expected. Having a homemade website that isn’t professionally designed, doesn’t have intuitive navigation and doesn’t do what you expect it to, cast doubt in the minds of your customers.

It’s vital in a time when customers have never been so savvy and demanding that your website reflects the quality of your product, service and brand.

Don’t be fooled into thinking that your customers will see past your website and know that you are offering a fantastic product and service. As your eyes are the window to your soul, your website is the virtual window in to your business.
